Zoom is undoubtedly one of the most popular video conferencing applications out there. Several companies and organizations utilize the application to organize meetings of all kinds, including informal meetings.
Did you know you can include a profile picture for your Zoom account? When you’re not using the video function during a Zoom meeting, what other participants see is just your name, and the first letter of your first name is usually bolded in the center of the screen.
Having only your name displayed like that during a meeting sometimes takes the fun out of it. Unless you want it to be that way, you can add some personal touch to your profile by including a profile picture.
If that sounds like a good idea and you want to try it out, you’re reading the right article. This article details a step-by-step guide to add a profile picture to your Zoom account on your mobile device or desktop. You can add or change your Zoom profile picture on a website, mobile application, desktop application, and even during a meeting.
You can change your profile picture on the website using a mobile device or computer. You're good to go as long as you can access the internet through any. Here’s a breakdown of the steps:
Login to your Zoom account using the website link. It takes you straight to a page that requires you to input your email address and password. You can also sign in with your Apple ID, Facebook account, Google account, and SSO.
Go to the “Profile” tab on the left side of the screen. Then click on your current profile picture and select “Change.”
Choose a new picture from your device. Crop it to fit, then click “Save.”
Once you click “Save,” your profile picture changes to the picture you selected. Very easy and straightforward.
On your mobile device, whether Android or Apple, you can easily change your Zoom profile picture in no time. Ordinarily, it shouldn’t take you more than a minute. Follow these steps to do so.
Open the Zoom app on your mobile device. If you don’t have it, you can download it from Playstore or Apple store for Android and Apple devices respectively. Once you have opened the app, login into your account.
When you’re in, click on the “Settings” icon at the bottom-right corner.
Then, tap your account name at the top of the screen.
After that, tap the “Profile Photo” tab at the top of the screen.
Finally, choose your preferred profile picture and click “Done.”
You may use Zoom mostly on your desktop and want to change your profile picture using the desktop app. Don’t worry, I got you. With these simple steps, you can easily add a personal or professional touch to your meetings with your display picture. Note that these steps work the same with both Mac and Windows desktop apps.
If you don’t have the desktop app already, you can download it from the store available on your computer.
Let’s say you just downloaded the app on your computer, the first thing to do is sign in using your login details. Just as before, you can use your email address and Zoom account password or login with your Apple ID, Google account, Facebook, or SSO.
Once you have logged into your account, click the “Settings” icon in the top right corner of the screen.
In the settings page, you’ll see a lot of options. Don’t get confused. Look down on the left sidebar for the “Profile” tab and select it.
Now, you should be looking at your profile page. Click on your current profile picture. If you have none, it should be blank. You would see your name and email address just below.
Next, select “Change picture” and put any picture of your choosing.
After selecting your profile picture, crop to fit and then click “Save.” There you have it; your new profile picture all set up!
I bet you didn’t know before now that you could change your Zoom profile picture in the middle of a meeting. If I’m being honest, I also didn’t know until I wrote this article. So, we both didn’t know, but now we do.
